Hospitality & Tourism

There are so many great careers in the tourism and hospitality industry throughout the world. A great way to start is by gaining foundation skills and knowledge in your local region. Further, this means that not only do you learn about the place you live and what it has to offer, you gain a nationally recognised qualification, either the Certificate II in Tourism (SIT20116) or the Certificate II in Hospitality (SIT20316), plus 4 QCE points. We include the units Responsible service of alcohol (SITFAB002) and Work safely in the construction industry (CPCCOHS1001) units, both of which are an excellent addition to a resumé.

Please note that students enrolled at high school, or as registered homeschoolers in Queensland, are eligible for Queensland Government VETiS funding.  If you have not used your VETiS funding, you will not be required to pay fees. All excursions, materials, a Sejumi polo shirt, and a name badge, are provided to all students.

In order to reflect the standard industry uniform, we ask all students to wear the following to classes and excursions:

Option 1

Trousers - black (no jeans or leggings)
Socks - black
Shoes - black school style shoes
Sejumi polo shirt - supplied by Sejumi Institute
Name badge - supplied by Sejumi Institute

Option 2

Shorts - black, knee length - cargo style
Socks - white
Sneakers - black or white
Sejumi polo shirt - supplied by Sejumi Institute
Name badge - supplied by Sejumi Institute

All students are invited to a formal graduation ceremony at the end of the year. Families and friends can join them as they are presented with their certificate and any awards they receive.

Students who complete the Certificate II level, will be invited to join the Certificate III extension program at the end of the year.
